Which cookies this site sets, and what you get to choose.

Last updated 2 August 2026

In short

This website sets a few cookies that are always needed to make the site work, plus cookies for measuring visits and advertising that are only set once you have said yes to them. Say no and only the first group remains, and everything still works.

What is a cookie, exactly?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser so the site can remember something between your visits. Some cookies are needed to make a website work, and others are used to follow what you do and to tailor advertising to it. For that second kind we ask your permission first.

Which cookies do we set?

Always, because the site does not work properly without them

NamePurposeDuration
NEXT_LOCALERemembers whether you want the Dutch or the English version1 year
goldlab-consentRemembers the choice you made about cookies6 months
goldlab-introRemembers that you have already seen the opening animation. Technically this is temporary storage rather than a cookieUntil you close the tab

Only after you allow statistics

NameProviderPurposeDuration
_gaGoogleRecognises your browser, so a second visit is not counted as a new visitor2 years
_ga_MWK7N0HJTSGoogleRecords when your visit started and how long it lasted2 years

Does Meta set anything itself?

Meta may set cookies on their own domain while you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram. That is outside our control. What happens with those is described in Meta's own cookie policy.

Why am I seeing a cookie notice?

Cookies that are necessary to make a website work require no permission. Measuring visits and measuring advertising do, and that permission has to be given in advance and freely.

So nothing is switched on before you choose, refusing is as large and as clear as accepting, and you can decide per category what you are comfortable with.

Can I change my mind later?

Yes, at any time. At the bottom of every page there is a Cookie preferences link where you can adjust or fully withdraw your choice. We also ask again after six months, so a choice you once made does not quietly run on for years.

You can also view and delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. How that works differs per browser.

What happens if I refuse?

Then nothing is loaded from Google or Meta and nothing about your visit is recorded. The website works exactly the same, the contact form works, and you do not get a reduced version of the site.
